Pietro Garofalo was born in Floridia, province of Siracusa ( Italy ) in 1951. Once finished his A level at the institute of art Istituto Statale d’Arte of Siracusa, in 1967 he moved to Rome to complete his formation at the academy of arts Accademia di Belle Arti under the guidance of masters Emilio Greco and Pericle Fazzini.
In 1969 he had his first personal art exhibition at the cultural centre Centro Culturale Cine Foto Club of Floridia. In 1970 he exhibited at Palazzo delle Esposizioni of Rome and presented his second personal exhibition at the city hall Palazzo Comunale of Floridia. Between 1971 and 1977 he alternated between sculpture and artistic research trips between Sicily , Rome and Milan. In 1978 he moved to Bergamo where he continued his artistic activity and also started teaching.
Since 1980 he has exhibited in numerous collective, both with national and international artists, and personal art exhibitions. In 1996 he was conferred a silver medal for artistic merits by the Municipality of Bergamo (Comune di Bergamo). Teacher of art history and drawing-master, he currently lives in Treviglio.
